History and Background
Bio Huma Netics (BHN) was founded in 1973 by scientists who discovered a material that improved the ways in which plants absorb nutrients from the soil. Obviously, such an innovation would have huge benefits for farming and agronomy in general: if a plant’s root system could be made more efficient, it meant the plant could thrive with less water and fertilizer inputs.
The “secret” to Bio Huma Netics’ products is Leonardite, a rare humate (soft or oxidized coal) material. Humates are naturally occurring, nutrient-rich derivatives of decomposed plant matter in soils. The highly oxidized Leonardite displayed unique characteristics and properties when applied to farm fields, by improving both the soil’s fertility and the plants’ nutrient uptake. BHN immediately knew it was a winner.
Technological Advances
Bio Huma Netics then developed a proprietary extraction process to get useful organic acids, complex carbons, soluble minerals and other beneficial components from the Leonardite. Over the years, BHN identified many other ways in which Leonardite’s base materials could biologically improve soils, plants and even wastewater treatment.
By adapting and refining that technology, BHN is now able to offer over 70 successful products for a variety of important uses. Those include Huma Gro® biological soil activators and foliar nutrients to boost agricultural production and turf growth; PROBIOTIC SOLUTIONS bio-stimulants, and nutrients for the wastewater management and environmental markets; and other exciting innovations.
